Final Blog Post for Into the Wild
After finishing all my sons today in class, I really think that these two stories have a lot in common, or at least more then some would think. A big reason that Christopher McCandless leaves to Alaska is because he is fed up with his parents. They always argue and try to spoil him. He says that their relationship terrorizes him and they agonize him and he leaves. They had no idea they were causing him this much pain. In All my sons we find out that Larry killed himself because he was ashamed of his father and didn't want to live through it. Chris becomes very frustrated and really does not forgive his father for he did and wants to turn him in to prison. Unfortunately Mr. Keller shoots himself and Chris feels awful but it shows the connection between the families that can really result in awful endings. For me I didn't think it was right for Christopher to do what he did by leaving his family for Alaska. I would've sent them a letter or something telling them my frustrations and then telling them I would be in Alaska for a few days. I think he left an awful note with his parents and could've forgave them. I really am happy I read this book. I recommend it to any who liked the movie and wants more insight and detail to the story.
